Synopsis: While everyone harbours an unconscious, if not conscious, ‘theology’, i.e. some way of mentally coping with the Real or the big Other (Lacan), this book seeks to address various points of interface between psychoanalytic theories of the mind and Christian theology. Stephen will speak briefly about how he understands desire and sexuality to structure both the human mind (drawing upon Jean Laplanche’s re-interpretation of Freud) and the Christian conception of the trinitarian God – and then the floor will be open for discussion.
